Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RefBytes Store platform operated by RefBytes ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

You must create an account to purchase products, access downloads, or use subscription services. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

We sell digital products including Omeka S modules, themes, and bundles. Upon successful payment, you will receive access to download the purchased products through your account dashboard. Downloads are provided via time-limited signed URLs for security.

Products purchased individually grant you a perpetual license to use that version of the software. You may install purchased products on any number of your own Omeka S installations.

We offer subscription plans that provide access to ongoing support and continued development of included products. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan) through Stripe.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to subscription benefits until the end of your current billing period. Subscriptions do not restrict your ability to use previously downloaded software.

All prices are listed in US dollars unless otherwise noted. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, though existing subscriptions will be honored at their current rate until renewal.

Because our products are delivered digitally, all sales are generally final. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using a purchased product, please contact our support team within 14 days of purchase. We will work to resolve the issue or, at our discretion, issue a refund.

All products, content, and materials on this platform are owned by RefBytes or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your purchase grants you a license to use the software; it does not transfer ownership of the intellectual property.

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly share any purchased products or their source code without our prior written consent.

You agree not to misuse our services. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Distributing malware or engaging in any activity that disrupts our services
• Redistributing or reselling purchased products without authorization
• Using our services for any unlawful purpose

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RefBytes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services or products. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Our products and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that our products will be error-free or that they will be compatible with every environment or configuration.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon termination, your right to access subscription benefits will cease, but you may continue to use any products you previously purchased and downloaded.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which RefBytes operates, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
